DiDomenico Designs to Premier at Couture Fashion Week New York

Upcoming designer label DiDomenico Designs will present its latest collection during the prestigious Couture Fashion Week New York event. The runway show will be held at 6:00 pm on Saturday September 12, 2015 in the Broadway Ballroom of the Crowne Plaza Times Square Manhattan, in the heart of the city that never sleeps.

DiDomenico Designs was founded in 2009 by Kelsy Dominick as a custom brand that was carried only in boutiques in Blacksburg, Virginia. As the curator of designs for the brand, Ms. Dominick mixes cultural inspirations into special occasion wear in a timeless approach. Ms. Dominick’s artistry is focused on the custom bespoke side of couture, catering to the exacting demands of her clients.

DiDomenico Design’s latest collection is entitled “Virtuous”, inspired by the Bible’s interpretation of the virtuous woman. The detail, beading and embellishment invoke the reflection of beauty that each woman carries within her… for her price is above rubies and her clothing is silk and purple. The goal is to balance a chic yet fierce collection inspired by the virtuous woman with a modern implementation.

Through her brand, Ms. Dominick also conveys a deep appreciation for a wide variety of culture and fashion. Singer Vicky Shu to Perform at Couture Fashion Week New York

Singer Vicky Shu is set to perform during the Andres Aquino fashion show at Couture Fashion Week in New York. Part of the 22nd season of the prestigious event, the show will be held at 8:00 pm on Saturday September 12, 2015.

Vicky Shu is a well-known celebrity in her native Indonesia, noted for her golden voice as well as her proficiency on the guitar and piano. She was a finalist for Miss Indonesia 2007, and is also an accomplished actress, currently finishing a movie in Turkey. She is a former backup singer for the popular Indonesian band Yovie and Nuno. As a soloist, she released an album entitled Drink Me, and recently released her new album which includes six of her own original compositions.

In addition to her musical and acting endeavors, Vicky Shu is also a footwear entrepreneur, designing her own line of beautiful and elegant shoes under the label Shu Shu. Her shoe designs are now hitting the international market, being exported to Italy and Amsterdam in Europe as well as Japan and Malaysia in Asia. The exquisite designs along with impeccable customer service are attracting much international attention, and are favored by celebrities including Lenka and Kelly Osbourne. Vicky’s shoes will be accessorizing the fashion designs of Diana Putri on the Couture Fashion Week New York runway at 6:00 pm on Friday September 11, 2015.

Vicky Shu’s charitable efforts include joining with other prominent celebrities for a concert benefiting natural disaster victims, hosted by the Rumah Pandai charity and Indonesian business mogul and world-renowned guitarist Setiawan Djodi.

Latest UpScales Fashions 43 Collection Shines with Impeccable Craftsmanship

Texas-based designer Evelyn Suzette (Scales) Johnson will present the latest collection for her UpScales Fashions 43 label at the next Couture Fashion Week New York. Marking the designer’s second show at the prestigious New York event, the fashion show will be held at 8:00 pm on Friday, September 11, 2015 at the Crowne Plaza Times Square Manhattan.

UpScales Fashions 43 is a fashion brand focused on the goal of designing beautifully fitted clothing that makes the wearer comfortable and happy, reflecting each client’s unique personality. It especially strives to create a new dimension on the use of denim. Many designs are inspired by “retro” silhouettes and styles, especially from the 1960’s.

Designer Evelyn Johnson holds a degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering and has worked in the electronics field for 30 years. Her true pasion has always been fashion, however, and she is now making that dream a reality with her own clothing line, UpScales Fashions 43.

“The smile and joy that clothing a person brings, makes me want to do this more and more every day — I find that this is my true calling,” says Evelyn Johnson. “My dream is to one day clothe America — all sizes, shapes, and ages.”

Rising Design Star Anniesa Hasibuan to Show Opulent Collection at Couture Fashion Week

Rising design star Anniesa Hasibuan will make her debut at Couture Fashion Week New York with the presentation of her latest collection at 4:00 pm on Saturday September 12, 2015. The event will be held at the Crowne Plaza Times Square Manhattan in the heart of the city.

Based in Indonesia, Ms. Hasibuan has always had a passion and flair for fashion. After designing business and formal clothes for herself, she found that many friends and clients loved her creations, and encouraged her to launch her own boutique. Her fashion design career has since taken off, and in 2015 she realized a long time dream when she showed her designs at London Fashion Week with a collection entitled “Glitzvaganza”, as well as at the “Hello Indonesia” event in Trafalgar Square in London with a collection called “Sradhha” (which means “Belief”). Ms. Hasibuan was delighted to participate in the London events as a means to increase international attention for her designs. She has also shown at the Ritz Carlton Pacific Place in Jakarta to rave reviews.

Anniesa Hasibuan’s designs often feature fine silk, velvet and brocade and other traditional Indonesian fabrics embellished with her signature touches of sequined stones and beautiful pearls. Her show in New York will include accessories by Surabaya designer Grace Liem.

Soprano Kaja Pecnik to Perform at 22nd Season of Couture Fashion Week NY

In her first appearance at Couture Fashion Week New York, London-based singer Kaja Pecnik will perform at 8:00 pm on Friday September 11 and 8:00 pm on Saturday September 12, 2015. Part of the 22nd festive season of the prestigious event, the fashion shows and performances will be held at the Crowne Plaza Times Square Manhattan, in the heart New York City.

A native of Slovenia, Kaja Pecnik is a soprano and actress whose performances are described as powerfully emotive and a definite stand-out. Her voice is truly inspiring, with a tenderness that touches the soul. Although her heart lies in opera and musical theatre, she successfully writes and performs her own pop and folk songs . Kaja is not just a singer, she is a performer who takes her audience on a journey with every note she sings. Designer Lainy Gold Returns to Couture Fashion Week with Tribal Earth Collection

In her second appearance at Couture Fashion Week New York, designer Lainy Gold will show her latest collection at 8:00 pm on Sunday September 13, 2015. Part of the 22nd season of the prestigious event, the fashion show will be held at the Crowne Plaza Times Square, in the heart of New York City.

Lainy Gold’s new collection is entitled “Tribal Earth”, filled with reflections of nature and celebrating the body. Included are swimwear designs, coverup dresses as well as some menswear. Notable features are Aztec prints along with denims and natural fabrics like cottons and linens. The presentation of the collection will include hand made jewelry also created by Lainy Gold, as well as distinctive headdresses, celebrating the designer’s vision of nature in its rawest, truest form.

“My inspiration for this collection came from a piece of music I stumbled upon that had tribal drum beats throughout,” says Ms. Gold. “This will be a show filled with my vision that came from this music.. It’s strong, powerful, sensual and emotional.”

A native of Canada with a French mother and British father, Lainy Gold started designing at a young age, and went on to be a model for 15 years, surrounded by designers, immersed in the fashion world of showrooms, fittings and photo shoots. She presented her inaugural collection at Atlantic City Fashion Week, and has experience designing menswear, swimwear, children’s fashions, bridal designs, accessories and headpieces, as well as competitive dance outfits, along with her distinctive womenswear designs.

In addition to being a talented fashion designer, Lainy Gold is also an accomplished photographer and actress. Her photographic work has appeared in numerous print magazines and calendars. As an actress, she has appeared in such TV shows as Law and Order, Gossip Girl and Blue Bloods and films including New Year’s Eve, Mr. Poppers Penguin, Two Weeks Notice and Jersey Girl. Her latest role is in Road Rage – A Bleak Comedy, a film directed by Brad Mays, to be released in 2015.

Rising Design Star Paola Gamero to Show at Couture Fashion Week

Rising Peruvian design star Paola Gamero will present her latest collection at Couture Fashion Week New York during the upcoming 22nd season of the prestigious event. The fashion show will be held at 8:00 pm on Friday September 11, 2015 in the Broadway Ballroom of the Crowne Plaza Times Square Manhattan, at the Crossroads of the World.

Paola Gamero’s designs are very feminine and romantic designs with a focus on detailing. The handmade embroidery, jewels, laces and silks featured in her creations are inspired by her experiences in Europe and are designed to highlight the natural delicacy of women.

Ms. Gamero studied Business Administration at the University of Lima, Peru. Her personal taste for fashion motivated her travel to Milan, where she studied Fashion Design as well as Fashion Image and Fashion Styling and Production at the Marangoni Institute and where she worked as a backstage assistant at Milan Fashion Week S/S 2013. She also earned her certification as a Fashion Events Planner from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York.

Project Runway Vietnam Winner Ly Giam Tien to Show at Couture Fashion Week NY

Rising design star Ly Giam Tien will show his latest collection at Couture Fashion Week New York during the prestigious event’s 21st season. The highly anticipated fashion show will be held at 4:00 pm on Sunday February 15, 2015 at the Crowne Plaza Times Square Manhattan, in the heart of the Big Apple. The show will include appearances by several recent Vietnam’s Next Top Model winners.

Ly Giam Tien is the winner of Project Runway Vietnam 2014 as well as the youngest design talent of the show. Surmounting tough challenges with intense resilience, he finally won the championship in the exciting finale. The 18 year old designer has overcome challenges in his personal life as well, with a rough childhood that included making a living as a snack vendor, mason and tailor. Thanks to those experiences, Ly Giam Tien is independent and fiercely determined to overcome any obstacles to achieve his dreams. Although the young designer has no formal training in the field, his passion for fashion, unique creativity, optimism and innate talent impressed the fashion luminaries during the cut-throat competition. The collection he showcased during the season finale was inspired by Paris and its splendid architecture, and was distinguished by impeccable tailoring, fresh designs and decorative flair. Ly Giam Tien is a proud discovery of the show and he is moving forward to broaden his design career into international heights.

A few months after winning the Project Runway Vietnam competition, Ly Giam Tien presented his “Optical Illusion” collection at Vietnam International Fashion Week 2014. It was enthusiastically received by fashion professionals both nationally and internationally, including fashion luminary Emily Hwang, vice president of the Asia Couture Federation. In January 2015 Ly Giam Tien presented a new collection, “Origin”, inspired by the beauty and temperature of the human body. The collection was showcased in the Vietnam’s Next Top Model 2014 finale that was broadcast live on VTV3, the national channel with millions of viewers.

Ly Giam Tien was voted Breakthrough Designer by Men’s Culture and Sport Magazine in 2014, and was also named as a potential face poised to make a breakthrough in 2015 by Forbes Magazine.
