Award-winning designer Matthew Cashe will present his latest stunning collection on the runway at Couture Fashion Week New York’s 21st season. Marking the designer’s first appearance at CFW, the show will be held at 8:00 pm on Friday February 13, 2015 at the Crowne Plaza Times Square in the heart of the city.
Talented designer Matthew Cashe’s love for fashion started at age 12. After high school, he studied the trade under Master Tailor, Mr. Williams at the Williams Tailoring Establishment, and went on to further studies at The University of the West Indies. After settling in the United States, his career blossomed. Mr. Cashe’s designs have been worn by celebrities such as actors Keke Palmer, Keisha Knight Pulliam and singer Lauryn Hill. Actress/Director Dalia Phillips has been dressed by Mr. Cashe for red carpet events including the 2006 Academy Awards, the premier of the movie Akeelah and the Bee, and the NAACP Awards. His gowns have been worn by actresses in an independent film by filmmaker Michael Gaba, and he has also designed for beauty pageant contestants.
Matthew Cashe has presented his designs at many fashion events throughout the United States, including 7 on 7th Fashion during New York Fashion Week and Virginia Fashion Week, as well as at events in South Beach, Florida, Tennessee, Ohio, South Hampton, and Washington DC. He showcased his designs at a fashion show he hosted, and has been featured at Burlington County College’s Fashion Show Extravaganzas. His fabulous designs have also been featured in Mercedes-Benz dealership advertising, and in publications such as Intense magazine, Today’s Black Woman, Grace for Today, and the Chicago Tribune.
In giving back to the community, Matthew Cashe is a mentor for high school students interested in fashion design, among other projects. His designs were recently featured at The African Investment & Development Awards at the St. Regis Hotel in New York.
