Moroccan design star Meriem Belkhayat will present her latest collection on the runway at the upcoming Couture Fashion Week event in New York City. The fashion show will be held at 6:00 pm on Saturday February 14, 2015 in the Broadway Ballroom of the Crowne Plaza Times Square Manhattan, in the heart of the Big Apple.
Considered to be one of the most celebrated Kaftan designers in Morocco and the Arab World, Meriem Belkhayat’s exquisite designs are masterpieces that embody Moroccan authenticity and elegance with a modern flair. Her creations sparkle with glamour, and all her collections are hand made, produced with the finest fabrics and crystals.
Meriem Belkhayat was born into a family of artists: her father is a famous singer and her mother is a Kaftan designer. Her mother’s couture atelier used to be in her family home, and Ms. Belkhayat grew up in an artistic environment. She found it hard to imagine her future “without needles, scissors, colors, and all things related to fashion in general.”
Ms. Belkhayat has dressed many Moroccan and Arab celebrities and royalty, which has brought much attention to her brand. However, her hard work, creativity and dedication to detail are the secrets to her continued and growing success. Since 2011, she has shown her beautiful creations annually at the Marrakech Caftan Fashion Show, one of the most prestigious events in the traditional Moroccan haute couture scene, where she is one of the most highly anticipated designers.
