FAQs for Members of the Press
Q. Who can apply for Press Accreditation?
A. People who either work or freelance for bona fide media outlets can apply. This includes photographers, videographers, editors and bloggers. Preference is given to members of the press who regularly cover similar events and can show tearsheets of their work. Portrait, wedding and portfolio photographers are not considered to be press unless they have been assigned to shoot for a bona fide media outlet. We especially look for press that have over 5,000 followers on social media, or have covered our past events and provided us with links to their coverage.
Q. Is there an application fee?
A. No.
Q.What are the dates and venues for the next events?
A. NEW YORK: March 1, 2025. *Note date change*
CANNES: May 2025, details TBA.
Q. If I submit an application, will I be on the press list?
A. No. If your application is approved, you will receive an email invitation to register and get a press pass for upcoming events. Only people with press passes will be on the press list.
Q. Are press passes valid for all shows and parties?
A. Press passes are valid for access to cover fashion shows and related activities (like film screenings and red carpet). Backstage access is NOT included. Details on parties TBA.
Q. What is the criteria to be approved?
A. Minimum 5,000 followers or subscribers on social media, valid website and/or social media URLs.
Q. Do you cover travel expenses for members of the press?
A. No.
Q. When can I expect to receive my press pass?
A. Approved press must register after receiving an email invitation. The email invitations are usually sent starting about 2-3 weeks before the events.
Q. Can I attend if my media credentials are not active?
A. No, but you are welcome to buy tickets.
Q. Do you produce any other events I can apply to cover?
A. We also produce the Cannes Global Short Film Awards and Fashion Shows in Cannes, France, held annually in May. If you submit the press application on this page, you are applying to cover all our events, including Cannes.
Q. What are the rules for using the content I shoot at your events?
A. Video under 5 minutes and photos can be used for editorial purposes. Please contact us for information on rates and conditions for content creation and commercial and advertising usage.
