“50 Shades of Red” is the New Collection by Designer Evgenia Luzhina-Salazar

Returning for the fourth time to Couture Fashion Week New York, designer Evgenia Luzhina-Salazar will present her latest collection entitled “50 Shade of Red” at 8:00 pm on Friday September 5, 2014. The fashion show will be held at the Crowne Plaza Times Square, 1605 Broadway, in New York City. Original music for the show will be by award-winning musician and composer.

Ms. Luzhina-Salazar’s vibrant new high fashion dress collection blends Russian ferocity and Western cool, in a palette of different shades of reds.

A native of Moscow, Evgenia Luzhina-Salazar received a B.A. in Fine Art and Design from Moscow Art College, and went on to serve for five years as the Resident Set and Costume Designer for the Moscow Chamber Forms Theater. There, she designed numerous productions, which were staged in Moscow, Los Angeles and Washington DC. In 1991 Ms. Luzhina-Salazar moved to the USA where she continues to exhibit her extensive experience in Art and Theatrical Set and Costumes Designs. Read more…

Designer Patuna Bushyhead Returns to CFW with Sumptuous Collection

Designer Patuna Bushyhead will return to Couture Fashion Week New York with a highly- anticipated presentation of her latest collection at 4:00 pm on Sunday September 7, 2014. The fashion show will be held at the Crowne Plaza Times Square Manhattan, 1605 Broadway, at the “Crossroads of the World.” The show will be opened by a performance from singer Nini DeRossi, a regular favorite at Couture Fashion Week.

Patuna creates a range of pret-a-porter and haute couture designs. Frequent use of beads, crystals, Swarovski and precious stones can be seen in her “signature” items. The designer is often inspired by the age of elegance, reflecting 1950’s tailoring and silhouettes. She believes in creating designs that complement and enhance the feminine form, and likes to use sumptuous, flowing fabrics combined with a sophisticated approach to draping. Read more…

Award-Winning Vietnamese Celebrity Designer Vo Viet Chung to Make Debut at CFW

Vietnamese celebrity designer Vo Viet Chung will present his most recent inspired collection for Spring 2015 at Couture Fashion Week in New York. The highly-anticipated fashion show will be held at 6:00 pm on Saturday September 6, 2014 in the Broadway Ballroom of the Crowne Plaza Times Square Manhattan, 1605 Broadway, in the heart of the Big Apple, the world’s fashion capital.

Vo Viet Chung has showcased his designs on many television programs and at prestigious events around the world including Vietnam and Japan Cultural Week in Tokyo and the J Autumn Fashion Show in London. At Asian Fashion Week in 2011, he presented two collections under the theme “Asian Heritage Silk” made from traditional fabrics. During that event, the designer was recognized with a Guinness World Record for his stunning creation of an “Ao Dai” (traditional Vietnamese gown). The dress was made of 1,000 meters (over 3,200 feet) of fabric, including traditional silk from villages across the Vietnam. The tunic had nine trains, each 100 meters (over 300 feet) in length, symbolizing the nine branches of the Cuu Long River delta. It was decorated with gold and more than 2,000 diamonds. The costume also included a turban known as a “Vietnamese crown”, made from 0.5 kg (over 1 pound) of gold and encrusted with 2,000 diamonds. Read more…

Atlanta-Based Couturier Nina Gleyzer Blends ’50s Chic Simplicity with French Opulence for Spring 2015

Award-winning veteran couturier Nina Gleyzer will make her fourth appearance at Couture Fashion Week New York with the presentation of her latest collection “Nostalgie: Le Fin Mot”. The collection will be accessorized with head pieces by Natalya Bythewood. The fashion show will be held at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday September 6, 2014 at the Crowne Plaza Times Square.

As this is Nina Gleyzer’s final runway appearance, she designed a couture farewell collection inspired by her two loves: France, and ’50s fashion. Capturing an era-gone-by, this collection reflects a time when women sat in front of perfume-filled vanities to paint their faces and powder their noses, before dressing up in beautifully tailored dresses for coffee with friends.  “That’s how I envision women: chic, elegant… simplistic,” says Nina. “Nostaligie: Le Fin Mot” pays homage to the ’50s woman with a nod to French grandeur through the use of rich fabrication and exquisite pattern making.
