Designer Teresita Rodriguez TanonGaleria de Modelos will present the latest accessories collection by designer Teresita Rodriguez Tanon entitled “Kobiet” (“Woman of the Kingdom”). Part of the 22nd season of Couture Fashion Week New York, the runway show will be held at 4:00 pm on Sunday September 13, 2015 at the Crowne Plaza Times Square Manhattan, in the heart of the Big Apple.

Based in Puerto Rico, Ms. Rodriguez graduated from the island’s Institute of Fashion Merchandising and has over 20 years of fashion and accessories design experience. She has worked as a designer with K-Love Fashion and has over a decade of experience designing for numerous celebrities and beauty queens in Puerto Rico. Ms. Rodriguez’s creations for both men and women, are beautiful, elegant and unique, inspired by her devotion to God. She has presented her designs at many fashion events including Puerto Rico South Fashion Week and the Gotitas de Amor por Haiti benefit show. Ms. Rodriguez is currently working to expand her market reach to New York and California.

Puerto Rico-based designer Jossie Medina launched her design career in the 1990’s. Ms. Medina has studied fashion design and marketing, and holds a bachelor’s degree in secondary education with a minor in mass media communications.

“Nostalgia” is the Latest Inspired Collection by Designer Evgenia Luzhina

Evgenia Luzhina fashion show at Couture Fashion Week NYCouture fashion designer Evgenia Luzhina will present her latest collection entitled “Nostalgia” during the upcoming Couture Fashion Week New York. A returning favorite designer at the event, Ms. Luzhina’s fashion show will be held at 4:00 pm on Saturday September 12, 2015 at the Crowne Plaza Times Square Manhattan. The show will include live music by award-winning musician and composer Serge Khrichenko.

A native of Moscow, Evgenia Luzhina received a B.A. in Fine Art and Design from Moscow Art College. She served as Resident Set and Costume Designer for the Moscow Chamber Forms Theater. While there, she designed numerous productions which were staged in Moscow, Los Angeles and Washington DC. In 1991 Ms. Luzhina moved to the USA where she continues to exhibit her extensive experience in Art and Theatrical Set and Costume Design. She has been a costume designer for more than 30 years, working for different theaters in Russia and Unites States where she has created costumes for more than 50 plays.

Ms. Luzhina’s designs have won critical acclaim in both local and national newspapers, on radio and television. Her most recent accolades were Maryland Fashion Awards 2012: High Fashion Designer – Winner,  The Helen Hayes Award 2010: Outstanding Production for Youth – Winner, and The National Silver Archer Award in Public Relations 2014 – Winner.

Award-Winning Designer Jorge Diep Returns to Couture Fashion Week

Jorge Diep fashion show at Couture Fashion Week NYAward-winning designer Jorge Diep will return to Couture Fashion Week New York with a presentation of his latest collection at 6:00 pm on Sunday September 13, 2015. Part of 22nd season of the prestigious event, the runway show will be held in the Broadway Ballroom of the Crowne Plaza Times Square Manhattan, 1605 Broadway, New York City.

A native of the Dominican Republic, Jorge Diep relocated to Mexico at age 16 to study fashion design, hand embroidery, and beading. Soon after, he launched his career as a fashion designer, opening his first boutique in 1983 on Calle Estrasburgo in the exclusive Zona Rosa area of Mexico City. His artistic non-conformist soul next took him to Rome, Italy where he worked along side several great designers for over 2 years. He went on to gain more valuable design and career experiences in the fashion industry in Spain. After returning to the Dominican Republic in 1988, Mr. Diep began designing gowns for the Miss Dominican Republic pageant. Over more than 10 years, he was recognized with numerous national and international awards and accolades for his designs for major pageant events including Miss Universe, Miss World and Miss International. He has also created unforgettable designs for Miss Antigua, Miss Bahamas, and Miss Venezuela. Mr. Diep is also recognized for his beautiful theatrical costumes for such major productions as Kiss of the Spider Woman, Evita, Victor Victoria, and Romeo and Juliet. Jorge Diep is currently the official designer of the hit Mexican musical Aventurera starring Carmen Salinas and Noches de Cabaret starring Lucia Méndez. He has also designed many outfits for the First Lady of the Dominican Republic, Dr. Margarita Cedeño de Fernández.

His distinguished clientele includes many Latin American celebrities and famous personalities such as Charityn Goico, Nancy Alvarez, Amelia Vega, Angela Carrasco, Yolandita Monge, Araceli Arrambula, Ninel Conde, and Sabine Moussie among others. He has shown his designs at prestigious fashion events worldwide.

Mr. Diep is currently the president of the Dominican Fashion Foundation (Fundacion Dominicana de la Moda) and president of Republica Dominicana Fashion Week.

European Singing Sensation Shana Pearson to Perform at Couture Fashion Week

Singer Shana PearsonEuropean singing sensation Shana Pearson is set to perform at the next Couture Fashion Week New York. Part of the prestigious event’s 22nd season, Ms. Pearson will perform at 4:00 pm and 8:00 pm on Sunday September 13, 2015 in the Broadway Ballroom of the at the Crowne Plaza Times Square Manhattan, in the heart of the Big Apple.

Half American half Swiss, Shana Pearson (previously known as Shana P) is a pop singer and songwriter based in Switzerland. She has released two albums: Regarde‐Moi in 2009, which received a Gold Disk in February 2010 reaching 10,000 albums sold, and Love Inferno released in 2013, exclusively on digital platforms. Her video of Regarde-Moi has over 1.1 million views on YouTube. 2011 saw a turning point in her career as it was marked by her collaboration with famous DJ and party rocker Big Ali. He invited Shana to perform on his smash hit Electro‐Dance single Distress, which was influenced by the iconic hit song Message in a Bottle by The Police. Shortly after, Sting gave his approval to use the song, and Shana and Big Ali flew to Miami to shoot the music video. They went on to tour for more than 20 dates all around France and Switzerland before thousands of people, including an audience of 30,000 in Corsica. In the summer of 2011, Distress rose to second position on the charts for several weeks. In 2013, Shana performed for Justin Bieber’s support act along with Big Ali in Strasbourg, France. Shana Pearson is now working on a third album as an indie artist. Having already done numerous concerts outside of Switzerland (France, Belgium, Czech Republic, Thailand, and Algeria), Shana hopes to expand her music beyond.

A native of Ecuador, now residing in New York, Laura Santana has always had a deep passion for fashion and design. She became a successful fashion model at age 18 and went on to pursue a career in fashion design, opening several boutiques under her flagship brand, Laura S. Her own life experiences as a family-oriented wife and mother, entrepreneur and avant-garde business woman, along with strong influences from customs and traditions, all are expressed in her distinctive designs. Earlier in 2015 Ms. Santana showed her designs at Dominican Republic Fashion Week to rave reviews.

Laura Santana’s latest collection is entitled “Femme” and honors Latina women and their resilient and enterprising spirit with a strong feminine allure. Renowned Soprano Elisabetta Russo Set to Perform at Couture Fashion Week

Singer Elisabetta RussoRenowned soprano Elisabetta Russo will perform at Couture Fashion Week New York for the first time during the event’s upcoming 22nd season. Ms. Russo will perform during the Andres Aquino fashion show at 8:00 pm on Saturday September 12, 2015, as well as before the 4:00 pm fashion show on Sunday September 13, 2015. The event will be held at the Crowne Plaza Times Square Manhattan, at the “Crossroads of the World.”

A native of Bari, Italy, Ms. Russo received a Bachelor’s degree in singing and a Master’s degree with highest honors in singing specializing in chamber music from the “S. Cecilia” Conservatory of Music in Rome. She attended master classes with Edda Moser, Renata Scotto, Renato Bruson and Alberto Zedda. A winner of many important contests, Ms. Russo has performed in Italy and abroad and has collaborated with many acclaimed conductors and composers. Among the most important roles she has played are Norina in Don Pasquale by Donizetti, Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte by Mozart, Tonina in Prima la musica poi le parole by Salieri, Gilda in Rigoletto by Verdi, and Nannetta in Falstaff (starring Renato Bruson) by Verdi. In 2011 she won “Best Female Vocal” at the Hollywood Music in Media Awards. She has recorded Brise de Mér, Leoncavallo’s arias for voice and orchestra on the Suoneria Mediterranea label, with the direction of Luigi De Filippi. In 2013 she opened for Andrea Bocelli at Paramount Studios, performing with David Foster and Eugene Kohn, and performed at the Ann and Moss Theatre in Santa Monica with Maestro Andrea Morricone and the Amor Symphonic Orchestra. In 2014, together with pianist Giulia Spinedi, she won first prize in the Chamber Music section of the XVII International Competition V. Scaramuzza. As winner of the Beverly Hills recital series in 2014/2015, she performed at prestigious venues in the City of Beverly Hills. Currently she is writing for the Italo-Americano newspaper as Opera reviewer. Recent performances include a concert in Toronto for the Italian National Day Celebration at Casa Loma Castle in May 2015. For her appearance at the Couture Fashion Week New York soprano Elisabetta Russo will wear a Mark Belford gown.

Upcoming designer label DiDomenico Designs will present its latest collection during the prestigious Couture Fashion Week New York event. The runway show will be held at 6:00 pm on Saturday September 12, 2015 in the Broadway Ballroom of the Crowne Plaza Times Square Manhattan, in the heart of the city that never sleeps.

DiDomenico Designs was founded in 2009 by Kelsy Dominick as a custom brand that was carried only in boutiques in Blacksburg, Virginia. As the curator of designs for the brand, Ms. Dominick mixes cultural inspirations into special occasion wear in a timeless approach. Ms. Dominick’s artistry is focused on the custom bespoke side of couture, catering to the exacting demands of her clients.

DiDomenico Design’s latest collection is entitled “Virtuous”, inspired by the Bible’s interpretation of the virtuous woman. The detail, beading and embellishment invoke the reflection of beauty that each woman carries within her… for her price is above rubies and her clothing is silk and purple. The goal is to balance a chic yet fierce collection inspired by the virtuous woman with a modern implementation.

Through her brand, Ms. Dominick also conveys a deep appreciation for a wide variety of culture and fashion. Acclaimed Tenor Luciano Lamonarca Returns to Couture Fashion Week

Tenor Luciano LamonarcaAcclaimed tenor Luciano Lamonarca will return to Couture Fashion Week New York’s 22nd season with a highly anticipated performance at 8:00 pm on Saturday September 12, 2015. Part of the Andres Aquino fashion show, the event will be held at the Crowne Plaza Times Square Manhattan.

A native of Italy, Luciano Lamonarca was born in Italy and studied voice with such teachers as Gino Lorusso Toma, Franco Corelli, Carmen Sensaud, Salvatore Fisichella, Roberto Scandiuzzi and Daniele Barioni. He has performed solo concerts at prestigious venues worldwide including Lincoln Center, the New York Theater for the Performing Arts, Carnegie Hall, Palais Liechtenstein Museum in Vienna, Austria, Great Hall of the Palace National Philharmonic Orchestra, in Minsk, Belarus, La Vallisa auditorium in Bari and the Teatro Politeama in Palermo. Tenor Lamonarca has performed under the patronage of the highest national and international institutions: the United Nations, UNESCO, the European Union, the Presidency of the Italian Republic, the Italian Chamber of Deputies, the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Italian Ministry of Youth, the Regions of Puglia and Sicily. He was the special performing guest at the Commemoration in Westchester County (New York) of the attack of the Twin Towers, broadcast by NEWS 12. In 2011 he spearheaded the project “United Academia” with the U.N. Academic Impact.

Mr. Lamonarca has performed as a special guest on multiple occasions at Couture Fashion Week in New York. Other artistic projects include concert tributes to the great tenor Mario Lanza in Milwaukee and an online music project Ricordando Mario Del Monaco, a tribute to legendary tenor Mario Del Monaco with the collaboration of famous stage director Giancarlo Del Monaco. Luciano Lamonarca performed in Passau, Germany at the Europaishes Jugend Musik Festival in a concert dedicated to Giuseppe Verdi. In 2007 he became the youngest opera singer to perform at the United Nations in New York when he sang in the “United We Are Peace” concert as the sole representative of Italy at the invitation of the Zaraspe Foundation. He returned to perform at the U.N General Assembly in a concert held in the presence of ambassadors and Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon. In 2008 he performed at the world premiere of the film Carnera – The Walking Mountain at Madison Square Garden in New York City where the guests of honor were American actor Burt Young and Academy Award winner F. Murray Abraham. In 2013 Tenor Lamonarca received Proclamations for artistic merit from New York’s Westchester County Executive Hon. Robert Astorino, and from the New York State Comptroller, Hon. Thomas DiNapoli.

In 2009 Mr. Lamonarca released his first album entitled Mamma, dedicated to his mother and benefiting the missionary project “City of Hope” in Zambia. In 2012 he released his second album The Impossible Dream, an outstanding compilation of Italian operatic arias and American pop-operatic hits, made in partnership with The New York Choral Society and benefiting the Mini Maestros Program. Luciano Lamonarca has been featured in numerous media outlets including Rai Uno, Rai Tre, Rai International, Tele Norba and TGS Sicily, as well as ithe New York Daily News, New York Post, The Italian Times, The Italian Tribune, The Italia Magazine (in Russian), La Repubblica, America Oggi, Il Quotidiano.Net, Il Corriere del Mezzogiorno, La Gazzetta del Mezzogiorno and Il Giornale di Sicilia.
